Our Community

UPLEVEL is a community of people joined by a shared desire to realise personal success – howsoever defined – through a realised career.

Like any other community, we are only as good as the relationships we build, the people we support and the participation we choose to make. Whether you have questions to ask, suggestions to offer or ideas and experience to share, don’t hold back – that’s what we are here for.

Community Rules

All rules boil down to one principle: respect. We just ask you to respect that we are all here for a specific purpose. As long as you don’t do anything that disrespects each others’ values, identity, time and inputs, you will always be welcome here.

Go to #reception for more on community guidelines and how to make the most of your experience here.

About the Beta Platform

UPLEVEL is currently a beta version meaning it is still under going development. The main difference between this and the full version is the content is provided primarily in text format.

As a foundation member, you play an important role in helping us to get the content right. Over the following months, we will – incorporating your feedback and suggestions – make the content available as video and audio as well as text.

We will also continually look for improved ways to make it easier for you to interact and consume content in a convenient and secure way.

Regardless of future pricing for UPLEVEL, your current membership gives you continued lifetime access.

Using Slack

UPLEVEL is located on Slack, an online platform designed to bring communication and collaboration together in one space.

We chose Slack because it is primarily a workplace tool, making it a more appropriate choice for UPLEVEL than platforms like Facebook. It is used in large organisation with dispersed workforces, including Airbnb, NASA, eBay and HelloFresh.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to use platforms for communicating for work before, this will enable you to get familiar with one, which may help you in a future job.

Slack is made up of channels to help keep content and discussions organised by topic.

We have included a basic ‘how to’ guide in the #reception channel to help get you started.

Things to Note Before Setting Up

If you are already a Slack user, your details from other workspaces will not transfer across.

We recommend that you do not include information on organisations where you are employed (unless it’s your own) for two reasons.

  1. It will help you to avoid be seen to share information that represents your employer, and possibly breach their policy standards.
  2. It will allow you to raise questions and issues without being identified by someone you work with.

For this reason, we suggest you use just your first name or other display name, not your full name.

Read more in the guidelines before you complete your profile set up.
